Finance & Business Operations Manager

Reports to: COO/ CFO

The core of our current business is events-focused, but we are expanding our offering to build a tech platform and bring the ethos of our mission and community online. We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and well organized professional to manage the day-to-day financial operations at #movethedial. This role will manage the financial responsibilities, including: finance, accounting, reporting, FP&A and project management/project tracking. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves as you execute and collaborate with senior leaders.


Assist in management of P&L for each product line at #movethedial

Analysing targets and developing KPI metrics for each product at #movethedial

Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and re-forecasting processes

Providing back office services such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll

Monitoring cash flow

Project management as it relates to project tracking across the company

Liaise internally with all departments (Marketing, Business Development, Partnerships, Community) to ensure cohesiveness and a unified approach

Managing legal contract process and review of legal contracts


  • Passionate about making a difference!

  • Degree in Business/Commerce/Accounting/Finance

  • Approx. 3 – 6 years of working experience in a related role (Finance Manager, Operations Manager, Financial Operations Manager, Business Manager, etc.)

  • Experience in a “start-up” environment is considered an asset

  • Experience in a high-growth company

  • Experience with vendor / partner management

  • Prior experience building a budget and managing FP&A

  • Prior experience managing legal contracts is considered an asset, but not required

  • Prior experience with cash flow management and developing tracking processes

  • An accounting designation is considered an asset, but not a required

  • Strong excel skills and financial modelling experience

  • Prior experience with accounting software
